EASTCOAST DIVE TOUR

Brisbane Shark & Manta Dive Tour January 2026

As the water warms during the summer months, it's a great time to explore the dive sites along the south-central east coast of Australia.

Manta rays congregate on an island near Brisbane and grey nurse sharks gather at Wolf Rock.

At &Ocean, we hold special tours around this time every year.

1. Manta Island

North Stradbroke Island, off the coast of Brisbane. Many people have never even heard of it. This is the hottest spot of this tour, where 3-4m manta rays are always swimming under the boat. It is also known as Manta Island. It is a regular on the ranking of the best dive sites in QUEENSLAND, and in addition to manta rays, you can observe various rare giant creatures such as guitar sharks, leopard sharks, and Queensland groupers. In addition, staying on the beautiful island's beaches is just the best. In your free time, you can go to the cove where dolphins come and walk on the walking trail with a panoramic view of the sea.

2:Wolf Rock

Wolf Rock is a rocky point off the coast of Rainbow Beach. Around 20 grey nurse sharks live here at all times, and they hardly move, so if you approach them well, you can get very close. January is the peak month for births, when around 100 sharks gather. This shark is huge, measuring around 3.5m in length, and its fearsome face with fangs protruding from its mouth is very impressive. Rainbow Beach is far from a big city, but the beautiful beach has a well-equipped surf club, restaurant, and barbecue facilities, making it a comfortable place to stay.

Wolf Rock is a deep diving spot . You must use nitrox . If you do not have a license, please contact us in advance.
